Hourly Comics Day 2014

I do Hourly Comics Day just about every year, largely because I really like journal comics and getting a glimpse into someone else's life for a while.  It seems to be steadily migrating from the Hourly Comics Day forums to Tumblr, which I'm kind of sad about because it's much more difficult to see everyone's work on Tumblr.  It's the most disorganized place on the planet.

So this year for Hourly Comics Day I actually caved in and created a Tumblr blog.  I just toss random sketches on there for now, and the hourly comics.  You can follow me there if you like, or wait until I post a sketch-dump here, probably at the end of the month.  I guess I really do need a place to post random cruft and Tumblr does seem ideal for that.

Anyway.  Hourly Comics Day!  Every year a bunch of comic artists make one journal comic (or panel) for every hour that they are awake on February 1st.  When you read them, you get snapshots of people's lives in different parts of the world, all on the same day.  Since we're mostly comic artists, the snapshots don't differ all THAT much but it's kind of interesting anyway.

Here is the one I did for 2014:

This year February 1st was pretty busy, as I went to the Urban Sketchers sketch-out and a party.  I didn't have much time to draw on that day, and soon after I got sick so everything was shifted over by one or two weeks.  However, it was worth it, getting to draw some friends for a change.

And that's it for Hourly Comics Day 2013.  See you next year, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel!

Hourly Comics Day 2013 - Part 2

Part 2 of my super-not-at-all-exciting day.  Why didn't Hourly Comic Day happen on the 31st?  A ton of exciting things happened to me on Thursday.  For one thing I went to see the gynecologist.  That would have made an exciting comic.

Hourly Comic Day 2013 - Part 1

It's that time of the year again! I am breaking with tradition by participating in an odd-numbered year.

As usual, you can continue stalking me tomorrow.

Hourly Comic Day 2012 - Part 1

Hey, it was Hourly Comic Day yesterday (as it is every year). And I did hourly comics as I seem to do on even-numbered years.

(Click for slightly bigger)

I'm going to try and finish up the rest of these by the end of today, you can continue stalking me here tomorrow and the next day. But it's been a busy couple of days -- I've been priming panels and baking bread and going to life-drawing... I feel like I've hardly sat down (although of course most of this was accomplished while sitting firmly on my butt.) There will be lots to post, but it may take me a while to prep it all.

Hourly Comics Day!

Hourly Comics Day was yesterday, so I did an hourly comic! You can check out everyone else's here

Hourly Comic Day was an interesting experiment. I did it on a bunch of coloured cardstock scraps I had lying around. I was going to sew them up into a booklet, but ran out of steam.

Someone elsewhere said it was just like stalking me, but with all the work done for them.
