I was idly sketching in a meeting trying to design some characters with small eyes and big noses.

After Sleazy Romeo I went off on a mask tangent, hence the kid.

Sketchcrawl 18 - New Jacket

I need to get back into pencil crayons one of these years. More art from Sketchcrawl -- I got one of those rainbow hippie sweaters and I LOVE IT goddamn it. It is the best sweater ever.

Sketchcrawl 18 - Transcend

Went on Sketchcrawl last Saturday. Only got a few sketches done but I didn't do much all day other than run errands. It's hard to go on Sketchcrawl in the middle of winter.

Anyway, the display case at the coffee shop where we hang out Saturday morning.

And next week: it's Hourly Comic Day again!

It was a good photo. I'm trying another one but it's not looking quite right yet.

Palace of Science and Culture

Digital painting from this lovely stock photo.

I needed to practice some architecture and this caught my eye partly because the colours are so great and partly because I saw the building myself a few years ago when I was in Warsaw. The locals think it's an eyesore (it was a "gift" from the Soviet Union) but I kinda like it. :)

Bunulon

Not a Christmas ornament at all. I just got this urge to make some clay bunnies vaguely based on the ones from The Atrox comic and this guy turned out surprisingly well.

I ripped the head off my Edna the Witch model to make him. I almost never sculpt so I am completely delighted with how he turned out. I'm planning to make and paint some Sculpey bunulons and then maybe some mushrooms. For the present he's sitting on Neil's amp.

Butterfly Ornament

One last ornament, painted this year.

I have some nice intarsia ones too, but they are quite a bit more simple and don't display much in the way of painting technique. Maybe I'll take some more photos when I take them all down.

Ornaments 2

More painted Christmas ornaments. I did the partridge (quail?) this past Christmas and the stars were from Christmas 2009. I am particularly fond of the chicken.

My friend's mom does woodworking and every year she has a few of us girls over for an ornament painting party. This year I thought I'd take some photos of the ones I've finished. I tend to take a few liberties with the designs, which are all out of woodworking crafts books.

I'm reasonably happy with 2010 in that I managed to make more blog posts than in 2009. My New Year's resolutions this year are to top 2010 for sketchblogging, buy a Cintiq and make $1000 off my art.
